Arts of choreography
THE AREA OF ETHICS.
Diachrony permeates current art practices. This avatar of cultural contact identifies zones of knowledge and practice from which emerges a sense of ethics, acting as a catalyst in the construction of new identities.

SILENTCULTURE performance
“Patrice has in mind the rehearsal in the studio, his partner in the role of Odette, the dancer’s perfume, the bodies silhouetted under the fresnel lights, the intoxicating feeling of the space to embrace. He feels the urge to repeat the step that carries him far ahead. He holds back. He runs in his mind to prevent Medea from fleeing, unable for her to run as fast as a gazelle. He asks her: ‘What would you do if, with the archangels, you could fly away?’ She replies: ‘I would grab a glass to carry in flight above the heads.’” (Translated from French.)
Light, utterance, the sensitive matter
“The Anouéan chariot arrives; it stirs, // advances from city to city, hovers // over the universal hive, flitting // from cell to alveolus flower. / He is not alone, the Anouéan, // protected in the cocoon of Mirmidon // by the worker bees and the valiant drone // swarming the desire that, from Niamey, // that, from Bengal, brings the great cyclone, // bumping along the roads of subversion.” (Translated from French)

Poetry of silence
encounter with the vibrant matter, light, image, and enunciation
On peut reconnaître dans Himalayas (“Prayer for a Rope, a Pope and a Rogue”) ce travail unique des mains propre à l’art ‘indien’.
(Le Devoir)

Kathakali choreographic
Besides its narrative function, the hand’s tracing is randomly and dynamically inscribed between the composition and the performance.

Palimpsests (Lost scenes).
“The gestures are both earthy and drawn towards the heavens. The torso, arms, hands, pelvis, legs — everything is open, offered to the world, but Tremblay also infuses the bodies with intense contractions that imbue them with a palpable density. (Translated from Le Devoir.)

Vibrant matter, diachrony
When posture, position, and support become vectors of energy dispersing within a moving field.

The foundational work
Revived under the title: “Of Stone, a Postman, and Mirrors,” the choreography Of Mice and Other Similar Devices (“Journey to the West”) is the company’s founding dance.
(Thee choreographer) has come out with a seamless thread with which to weave together the superb hands gestures of the East with familiar contemporary swerves and sways of the West… He focuses on contemplative canons of select movements which he uses and reuses to mesmerizing effect.

Space in textures and leaps
Metric or asymmetrical, the percussive rhythm, playing in and out of movement, casts forth a flurry of conjunctures.

Empty words, saturation of the writing space
“The sky darkened. In the gentle ripples that caressed her feet, Medea observed the flickering features of the malevolent goddess of ancient dramas; the Medea of old, who had let down her hair, a priestess furious at having been betrayed in the heart of her kingdom, dying of rage, half-repentant on the road to exile. Medea straightened up and let herself be carried away in the madness of her flight”. (Encres de dispersion, 2024)
Where movement permeates meaning
The company Danse Kalashas produces and disseminates the choreographic works of Richard Tremblay under the series: “Diachrony” and “Legacy of Epics”.
