Between the lines

The collection Entre les lignes (Between the Lines) begins with an initial draft, the Galilée File, a montage of short texts presented in the form of cards written during Danse Kalashas and the Mahapooram Ensemble’s ten-year residence at the Espaces Galilée center (Galileo Spaces) until 2004. Republished on silentculture.org, this collection was born from my experience collaborating with percussionist and composer Bruno Paquet during this intense period of residence, creating and rehearsing in a space inhabited for decades by dance. This is also where we brought together different groups of participants for workshops, courses, conferences and rehearsals, as evidenced by the support received shortly before the unexpected closure of the centre.

This series takes up the idea of this initial draft of the Galilée File as a source of inspiration to reinvent its formula. “Between the lines” goes beyond an enterprise of nostalgia attached to the “Espaces Galilée” period. The series aims to be a source of information and reflexion, lending itself, through its aphoristic format, to the reading of the snooper and arouse one’s curiosity about the daily life and work inhabiting the creative environments as we have known them and as we still reckon with.
